Samie was one of a bevy of mechwarriors hired after Caph. Her family hails from the Duchy of Andurien where her father fought in the Andurien Secession War. Her father was spared in combat by a young Xavi Ferrer. After the war, her father was pardoned and he struck up a friendship with Xavi.
When Sami’s route to serve in the FWLM was blocked by suspicion of her family origins and loyalty, her father encouraged her to join the Company.
