Calada is a native of the Duchy of Oriente and was one of Xavi’s lance members in the Ninth Marik Militia. Calada came up in the ranks from nothing, having grown up basically on the streets. He joined the FWLM and had to fight hard to earn a spot as a mechwarrior even though he demonstrated superb skills. Ultimately he felt that he would not be able to progress further in the FWLM and so jumped at the opporunity to join the nascent Company.
