Contract FC 56507-019-2

Riot Duty
Location: Saiph
Employer: Federated Commonwealth
Start Date: 27 May 3053
End Date: 27 November 3053
Status: Success

A worker’s strike at the Sitwell Corporation’s LoaderMech manufacturing facilities has spread like wildfire through the capital city, igniting a flame of revolt amongst the fiercely independent, tribal inhabitants of Saiph. While most of the violence seems to be directed at opposing ethnic enclaves, there have been some attacks on the standing government and the MIIO suspects pro-Liao guerillas to be involved. The local planetary governor is interested in hiring mercenary forces to safeguard key facilities and put an end to the riots.

Pitchfork Party

08 June 3053
Status: Victory

While the Command Lance and elements of Bravo Company were occupied with a protest march, a force made up of jurry-rigged LoaderMechs and armed militia identifying istelf as the Brotherhood of Labor assaulted the Palace of Government, putting the remainder of the Company back on its heels.

After-Action Report

With the timely intervention of two jump platoons via VTOL and Recon Lance by waterway, Charlie Company was able to push back the overwhelming but disorganized forces of the Brotherhood of Labor. The victory did not come with out cost, however, as fifteen members of the Company met their end in the fierce fighting and one of the Vedette tanks of Fire Lance was wrecked beyond repair.

Smash the State?

17 June 3053
Status: Victory

After their failure to take the Palace of Government, the Brotherhood of Labor managed to take over the Sitwell Corporation manufacturing facilities and are using it as their headquarters to rebuild their strength. The planetary governor has ordered the Company to root them out. When Bernardo Morales noted that such an action would be considered anti-guerilla warfare against an armed force and thus fall outside of the scope of the original contract, the governor grudgingly agreed to a four million dollar C-BIll bonus for the eradication of the Brotherhood of Labor.

Cha-Ching. So much for revolutionaries.

After-Action Report

They didn’t have much in the way of skill, but you had to appreciate the guts of those revolutionaries. They stood in there and took a pounding and didn’t fold even after their infantry forces were massacred. Not that it did them any good in then. The Company wasn’t exactly in the mood to take pity after what had happened to Charlie. RIP, Brotherhood of Labor.
